Kopraphinol
Natural preservative system based on radish root ferment

Description
Kopraphinol is obtained through solid-state fermentation of white radish roots using Lactobacillus paralimentarius. The resulting fermented filtrate is then stabilized to form an effective natural preservative system.
It provides broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast, and fungi. During the fermentation process, phenolic compounds are released at high levels, giving Kopraphinol its natural antimicrobial activity, making it well suited for clean and minimalist formulations.
INCI: Lactobacillus/Radish Root Ferment Extract Filtrate

Technical & Sensory Profile
Formulation
Its activity is based on proven antimicrobial efficacy against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), as well as yeast (Candida albicans) and molds (Aspergillus niger).
Kopraphinol is a water-soluble, liquid ingredient that is easy to formulate, heat-stable up to 60 °C, and compatible with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients. It can be used in both leave-on and rinse-off systems, either alone or as part of a tailored microbial protection strategy.
Recommended Usage Level
2-4 %, depending on formulation type and preservation strategy.
Sensorial Properties
Kopraphinol is characterized by a very mild profile, offering good skin and scalp tolerance compared to many conventional preservative systems, which are often associated with irritation or dryness. It does not negatively affect the sensory feel of the final formulation and integrates without sensory overload
