Description
Pholitect® is a cosmetic ingredient obtained from the protective mucus of the Nameko mushroom (Pholiota microspora).
This polysaccharide is composed of sugars and proteins and shares certain structural similarities with mucin. It is described as a "botanical shield polymer" designed to help protect the skin from dryness and external stress.
Available data indicate:
- Approximately six times higher water-retention capacity than sodium hyaluronate
- In vitro anti-inflammatory activity
- Ability to absorb UV, blue light, and near-infrared light (NIR)
